Yes. All new undergraduate students must complete the TrustOpen Online Learning Starter Certificate (Modules 1β3, Simulation, and Assessment) before registering for their first credit-bearing course. This ensures every student has the foundational skills needed for success.
How long does the course take?
The mandatory Starter Certificate portion takes approximately 3β4 hours. The full course, including all six modules and the Personal Success Plan Portfolio, takes 6β8 hours total. The course is self-paced, so you can complete it on your schedule.
What happens if I don't pass the readiness assessment?
You can retake the readiness assessment as many times as needed. The assessment is designed to confirm your understanding, not to create barriers. If you're struggling, support is available.
Can I start my credit course before finishing PASS100?
No. The registration hold remains in place until you complete the Starter Certificate requirements and pass the readiness assessment with a score of 80% or higher.
Is the full certificate (Modules 4β6) required?
While only the Starter Certificate is mandatory, we strongly recommend completing all six modules. The additional modules provide comprehensive preparation for long-term academic success, including detailed information about support services, academic integrity, and personal success planning.
How do I access the course?
Once you are admitted to TrustOpen and enrolled in PASS100, you can access the course through your My portal or directly through this website. You'll need your TrustOpen student credentials to log in.
