1. Locating Assessments

Every TrustOpen course lists assessments in a consistent place β€” usually a menu item called Assessments, Assignments, or Evaluation. The course outline lists the same assessments with their weights.

  1. Open the course.
  2. Find the Assessments section in the course menu.
  3. Click an assessment title to see its instructions and due date.
  4. Cross-reference it with the course outline to see its weight.

2. Submitting an Assignment β€” Best Practices

  • Read the instructions twice. Submit the right file in the right format.
  • Name files clearly β€” e.g., Lastname_Firstname_Assignment1.docx.
  • Follow the style guide for citations (APA, MLA, or as specified).
  • Submit early, not at 11:55 pm. Technical problems at the last minute are common.
  • Save a copy of everything you submit and any confirmation you receive.

Before you submit, check the file opens on another device. Corrupted files are one of the most avoidable causes of late penalties.

3. Accessing Grades and Feedback

After your tutor grades an assessment, you'll typically find:

  • Your numerical grade or letter grade
  • Written comments explaining the grade
  • Sometimes an annotated version of your file

Read feedback carefully and refer back to it when you write the next assignment. Tutor comments are the most personalized guidance you'll receive.
