In Unit 6, we examined several management-related aspects of computer and network security, including selected legal, ethical, governance, and compliance considerations. While those topics were introduced within the broader context of security management, they represent a large and increasingly important domain of cybersecurity that warrants more detailed study.
In this unit, we will examine in much detail the legal, ethical, and regulatory dimensions of computer and network security. Topics include privacy and data protection laws, intellectual property rights, cybercrime and digital investigations, professional ethics, cybersecurity governance, and regulatory compliance. The unit emphasizes the responsibilities of cybersecurity professionals and organizations in protecting information assets while complying with legal and ethical obligations. By the end of the unit, students will be able to evaluate cybersecurity issues from technical, legal, ethical, and organizational perspectives
